These roadshow events are supported by the Devon Children and Families Partnership

Safeguarding children, promoting their health/wellbeing and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play. To support our responsibilities, the Devon Children and Families Partnership exists to ensure Children and Families can get the right support, in the right place at the right time. #WeAreDevon - Working Together for Families. These Early Help Roadshow events have been designed to enable all practitioners to experience working together and develop a greater understanding of the early help system within Devon.


Event Description:

These half day Early Help Roadshow events will provide further information to all agencies on the following subjects:

  • Working Together 2018;

  • Early Help – What is it and how can we all provide it?

  • Childrens Services Threshold Tool; and

  • Children's Centres – New ways of working.


Early Help Roadshow events details:

  • Newton Abbot Racecourse, Newton Rd, Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, TQ12 3AF – 18th September, 9am – 1pm

  • Cullompton Community Centre, Pye Corner, Cullompton, EX15 1JX – 19th September, 9am – 1pm

  • Petroc Centre, Old Sticklepath Hill, Barnstaple, EX31 2BQ – 20th September, 9am – 1pm

  • Exeter Race Course, Kennford, Exeter, EX6 7XS – 26th September, 9am – 1pm

  • Exeter Race Course, Kennford, Exeter, EX6 7XS – 26th September, 2pm – 5pm


Target Groups:

All front-line staff across universal and targeted services working with/alongside children and their families to provide early help, support and assistance. We are particularly seeking attendance from:

  • Schools & nursery settings;

  • Community groups;

  • Health colleagues; and

  • Education colleagues.


Learning Objectives:

  • To promote working together and highlighting how we can work together;

  • Roles and responsibilities when working together;

  • Best practice in working together and the support /services that are avalible to achieve this;

  • Participants are better equipped with knowledge and confidence in working together to support families;

  • Introduction to updated threshold tool;

  • Best practice on early help and how together we can make a difference for children and families living across Devon.


Please book a place a roadshow that is most convenient to your location, with Exeter holding a second roadshow to accommodate additional interest anticipated for these events.
